About him

Kim Hyun Joong is an artist who has been active as a singer and actor since his debut in 2005 with the South Korean band SS501, of which he was its leader. Following their breakup, he debuted as a solo artist with his Korean mini album BREAKDOWN in June 2011, from which he had previously released the single “Please”.

Kim Hyun Joong was the first solo singer in 2011 who sold 100,000 copies in just 2 weeks after its release. In October of the same year, he released his 2nd mini album called LUCKY, also obtaining great recognition and in December he released his 2nd single “Marry Me, Marry You”.

Kim Hyun Joong has been the only Korean artist who has achieved win a platinum disc. Among his winning albums are: Break Down on 08.15.2011 by Warner Music Taiwan and Tonight by Universal Music Group.

He is also an actor, he made his debut in 2009 in the drama Boys over Flower, where he played Yoon Ji Hoo, this being his first leading role. After many years he returned to acting, thus consolidating his position as an actor through the fantasy romantic drama ‘When Time Stopped’ in 2018.

He established his independent label ‘Henecia’ in April 2018, expanding his musical spectrum and meeting the public and fans in various ways. In his career as an artist, he has been able to form a great global fandom, facing new challenges, but offering high-quality content and world tours that meet the expectations of his fans, thus revealing a complete musical growth.

In 2021, he surprised all his fans by winning the Diamond Award for an Actor in a Leading Role (Indian Pink “Jangnong”) at the International Independent Film Festival.
